I love summer and I can't believe how fast it seems to fly by each year.
I also can't believe that today is August 11 already.
We have been a very busy family lately. The last weekend that I did not have plans was the last weekend in May...seriously!
As for August, I have spent my first two weekends at work, which means that Peter has spent his first two at home with the boys (and on call for work). I am so thankful for the job that I have! I love the location, flexibility of hours, the other staff, and mostly the great pay (I have to be honest here). With increasing expenses at every turn, I have decided to work an extra weekend (on top of my normal once-a-month weekend) for the next two months. Luckily this month is done now.
As I look ahead this summer, there is one weekend later this month where I am free! Unfortunately, Peter is not. Peter will be running in a relay race from LaCrosse, WI to Minneapolis, MN that weekend. More on that later, but what an awesome opportunity for him!
Last night we attended the Dakota County Fair with my mom and dad. We had wonderful weather, got in for free (except for my dad, who came a little later), enjoyed a few special treats, walked around the "old town" village area, and even managed a quick ride on the ferris wheel for Peter and Brady.
Here are a couple of pictures of our evening at the fair.
