A Trip to Cub

I am a busy mom!
At any given time, I have clothes that need to be washed, dried, ironed, or laid out for the next day.
At any given time, I have dishes that need to be put into the dishwasher or taken out of the dishwasher.
Much of my day includes: feeding children and cats, dressing myself and my children, running errands (groceries, vet, doctor, Target, gas, etc.), waiting for the bus to pick up and drop off Brady from school, pumping breast milk (yes, in case you didn't know, I have been pumping milk for Marshall since he was born--7-8 times a day!), cleaning my house, teaching my children about school and about God, and then getting ready for the next day.
It's a busy life and I love it!!

Today we went to Cub--for our full grocery run--just Brady, Logan, Marshall, and I!
It was the first time that I have taken all 3 boys with me to get groceries (we've been to Cub many, many times, but never for 'full' groceries) and it was quite interesting to say the least.
After having a very rough experience a couple months back involving one of those carts with a car on the front, I had "outlawed" car carts for our children.
However, since I knew I needed things to roll along smoothly today, I agreed to let the boys get the two-seater, two-steering wheel car cart.
So, as we rolled through Cub this morning, Brady and Logan sat nicely in the car portion of the cart, eating the free cookies that are provided for kids from the bakery. Marshall was quietly playing in his car seat, which was hooked to the front of the cart, and I was managing to quickly grab what we needed, while quickly sorting through the dozens of coupons that I had brought along.
I knew it was going too well.
After making it approximately 1/3 of the way through the store, Marshall started to get fussy and Brady and Logan started to fight over their steering wheels. I was doomed!
Luckily, I had brought along the baby carrier for Marshall, so I put him in there, calmed the fighting between the older two, and proceeded to shop as quickly as possible.
Picture this.
I had to push the heavy car cart with only one hand, while holding Marshall tight to my body with the other, because otherwise, his head would have continually smacked into the handle of the cart.
Again, though, all went relatively smooth.
I eventually had to request Brady's help in getting some of the heavy items placed underneath the cart, and then placed onto the checkout counter at the end.
As we made our way out of the store, I was pushing the cart, Logan was riding in the car portion, Marshall was screaming in his car seat, and Brady was trying with all his 5 year old might to carry a heavy bag that didn't quite fit into the cart anymore.
We made it!
We made it home just in time for the boys to eat a quick lunch, for me to get the refrigerated and frozen groceries put away quickly and then pump more milk, and less than 5 minutes later, the bus was there and Brady was off to school.
Uff-da!
Now, Brady is at school and Marshall and Logan are napping. I have managed to eat lunch finally and then I have more laundry and dishes to tend to. I also need to figure out what we are eating for dinner tonight. Thank goodness it's Friday and I don't work again until Nov. 13!
