Turning 30

It is here. Today is the day that I turn 30 years old. I believe that the actual event does not occur until 2:15 pm, but none-the-less....

So I've been doing some thinking. I was certain that turning 30 would be a big deal for me--making me feel old, making me a little depressed , maybe even making me want another baby (oops, too late), but I am not sad at all today, in fact, I am excited.

God has blessed me so much in these first 30 years of my life, and I can't wait to see what He has for me in the next 30 years (and more, hopefully).

If someone had asked me back when I was in high school where I thought I'd be at age 30, this is probably what I would have said.
"I will be married to a rich man and we will have 4 blond children (3 boys and 1 girl). I will live in a big house in the Coon Rapids area and I will be a stay-at-home mom. I will drive a minivan and I will have an education as a nurse."

Well, as you probably already know, this dream is not exactly the reality of my life right now. But let's see...
I am married, I have 2 beautiful children, and 1 more on the way (these must be the 3 boys I wanted), I am a stay-at-home mom, I drive a minivan, and, although my husband is not "rich," he does make excellent and sufficient money for our family.
As for the rest...
I think I will be satisfied with 3 children, not 4 (but we'll leave that up to God), I no longer care about the color of my children's hair (it just isn't important enough), my house is not big or in Coon Rapids (but Farmington is great and so is our good-sized townhouse), and lastly, I am not a nurse (although Physical Therapy is a very closely related field).

When I really think about, I am completely blessed! I can't think of anything that would make my life more complete than it already is.
I am so thankful for my wonderful family. For the Christ-centered household that I grew up in, to the God-loving man that I married 6 1/2 years ago, and for the 3 healthy boys that God has given me the opportunity to teach about Him.

Happy Birthday to me!

I am so excited about my date night tonight with Peter. First we are going out to Red Robin for my free birthday burger, and then we are seeing a movie (yet to be decided) for free as well. Thanks, Cheerio boxes :). I can't wait for 5:00 to get here.
I also get to spend my birthday with my three favorite little boys today! One is still at school right now, one is right here, wrestling with his stuffed lion, and the third is still somewhat of a mystery to me, but I can feel his constant kicks inside of me :).

What a great day!
