Holiday Weekend

I thought I'd take just a few minutes to update as to what we've been up to so far, and what we're still planning for this busy holiday weekend.

Peter has been off work since last Friday, November 20! It has been so great, and I'll really miss his company and help around the house when he returns to work next week.

Last weekend we went downtown (see post below) on Saturday, and then we spent Sunday watching football (Peter), napping (Logan), and shopping for maternity shirts (Brady and Mommy).

Monday was Brady's last day of school for the month, and some self-training at my work in the evening.
On Tuesday, we started the day out at our local Farmington Bakery for some donuts/cookies. Next we headed up to Peter's work to pick up our free Thanksgiving turkey, and then we drove up to Shoreview to play at the newest indoor playground. What a blast!

Wednesday was our relaxing day. I got to sleep in, and then spent most of the afternoon doing laundry, cleaning up, and just relaxing. Peter and Brady ran a few errands together.

For Thanksgiving day, we drove up to Inver Grove Heights to pick up Uncle Mark, and then drove up to Blaine to celebrate the holiday with Peter's family. Peter's sister, Laura and her family, hosted at their lovely house on the lake! We had way too much great food and pie, the boys got to play with their cousins, and we had the chance to chat with some family.
Then, on the way home, we stopped by Great-Grandma and Grandpa's house to take another look at their computer issues.
It was a long and busy day, but definitely well worth every second!

Today started early for me. I headed out the door at 4 am to catch some "door buster" deals! Since we've decided to cut back on our Christmas spending and giving drastically this year, the deals that I found this morning weren't really for gifts, but rather just things that we could use, on really good deals. I got Peter a pair of boots for only $7 and the boys each an outfit for only $3 a piece. I found a few other deals too, and then rushed home to get a few more hours of sleep before the boys woke at 9.
We spent the remainder of today making our sweet potato casserole for tomorrow, grilling hamburgers for dinner, and having Peter's good friend Mike spend the day with us and the boys.

What a great week this has been!

Still to come....

Tomorrow we'll be heading up to Coon Rapids to celebrate Thanksgiving once again. This time we'll spend the day with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Laura, and Uncle Jason.
I just love the holidays and I can't ever seem to get enough of it! What a great time of year.

Next weekend...Annual Christmas cookie baking...I can't wait!
