Busy Brothers Brady and Logan

Happy Fall!
If you haven't noticed by my lack of recent posts, we have been busy.
Busy with life.

I have been working extra hours to help save money for Logan's surgery on Oct. 21 (more on that later), we've been outside a lot enjoying this perfect fall weather, and Peter and I have been busy with each other (a date weekend and a brand new card game that's super addictive!).

Brotherly love by the changing leaves.

Last weekend was heavenly for Peter and I. My parents called a couple weeks ago to ask if they could take Brady and Logan for the weekend to camp in their backyard. We gladly said yes, and so my Dad came down on Friday afternoon, just in time to meet Brady off his bus, and he took the big boys with him for the weekend. Then, on Saturday, Peter and I met Auntie Laura and Uncle Jason at Marshall's at Har Mar Mall to exchange Marshall for the night. They took Marshall home with them and brought him back to us on Sunday.
Did I mention this was heavenly for us?
Peter and I have not had a night with no children since last October when we went to Florida, and we have not had a night at our own house alone together since Christmas of 2008, which was very rushed due to the busy holiday season.
We had a great time together--just the two of us. It was much needed and super fun and relaxing! We went out for lunch, did a little shopping, bought a new game, played the new game over and over and over, grabbed some Cold Stone, played the game some more, watched some episodes of the Big Bang Theory on DVD, and slept in on Sunday (yes, we skipped church this week, because we were up until 2:30am-oops :).
Then, on Sunday, we had my parents over for some of my famous chicken enchilada pie when they were returning our well behaved children to us.
What a great weekend. Too bad I have to work this coming one.

Waiting for the bus to come.

Pumpkins from Grandma and Grandpa last weekend.

Patiently waiting for dinner to cook sometime last week.
Happy Fall.
Enjoy the warmth tomorrow--it could be record-breaking!

So glad your fall is going well. Your boys sure are special! Ben and I don't get much alone time either, so I know how you feel. So glad you and Peter got to hang out.. SO FUN!
